Parking is not free it's 10$ for a day
The motel looks roadside/nondescript on the outside. But my room was large, with two very comfortable double beds, excellent Wi-Fi, and good air conditioning. A basic breakfast was included -- cereal, toast, pastries, fruit, milk, juices, coffee. The motel has its own off-street parking. It is about a 15 minute walk to the Gaslamp Quarter and Horton Plaza and about 25 minutes to the convention center. The trolley is a couple of blocks away. Unlike many motels these days, the Days Inn had good lighting in the room.
There can be some occasional street noise -- mostly some morons on motorcycles with straight pipes. There are also emergency vehicles with sirens going by now and then.
The location allowed us to walk to the bars/restaurants that we wanted to check out in the city.
The rooms were dirty. Our credit card info was compromised the night before and we had called the hotel that morning to see what happened. The desk guy told us he would talk to the general manager and have more info for us when we checked in. When we checked in the new desk guy didn't say anything to us regarding what had happened the night before and when we brought it up he seemed hesitant to even speak about it. He then said our room was "upgraded" and there was a "complimentary snack basket" in the room. The room was the exact same one we had booked and the snack basket was two granola bars and a bag of popcorn. I would just think that if someone came in the night before your stay and stole your credit card information off the front desk, a general manager would be there to apologize. Or at least the front desk employee would.
We were there for one night after driving down from L.A. I chose it as I believed it to be value for money...location was great/convenient...rooms very comfortable & clean...complimentary b'fast was very good....i would recommend it and return.
No complaints at all....just glad we had good weather too so we caught a game at the Padres ground v the Dodgers.
Although it wasn't fancy like a hotel, it gave us the comfort of a hotel. I loved the free Internet although it was a bit slow. The service at the desk was great and the cleaning staff also did a great job.
It would have been a bit more secure if only people staying at the hotel can access the exteriors of the rooms. I did not feel safe because anybody could have knocked on our door in the middle of the night. The location was alright, not as close as I thought it was from downtown/convention center. There were lots of noise and very windy at night time. The breakfast was alright, they could have added a few more selection or cooked food like eggs or waffles.
It was cheap and close to the convention center. Parking was free.
The hotel is outdated and kind of crappy. Our room was right next to the elevator and the ice machine, plus the refrigerator in our room made a lot of noise. The air conditioner smelled like urine. The bathroom/kitchenette/closet area was extremely crowded and difficult to use. The young man who checked us in was rude and unhelpful. We won't be staying at the Days Inn San Diego/Downtown/Convention Center again.
I had my room upgraded to a business class for a small price upon arrival. I liked that there was a coffee machine, water and snack were included. The bed was comfortable, with good bed linen. The room was clean.
There was no control panel for air conditioner (well, there was one but it was completely dead). Breakfast was basic: bagels and muffins, apples, milk, juice and coffee/tea.
There is a nice Cortez Hill Market right across the street. Walking distance from downtown and convention center and ballpark.
It is a nonsmoking facility, however that means in the rooms. Guests have ashtrays available on the balcony outside the doors. My room had the ashtray, so people were frequently standing outside my door or window smoking. Breakfast, choices pretty limited.
fluffy pillows. comfy mattress. clean.
couldn't take a bath. breakfast was disappointing.
Front desk people were very friendly & helpful
Poor bed, pillows were lousy, too close to the homeless people, very noisy, unknown person pounded on our door at midnight. We did not feel safe in this location. Room had a foul odor!
Terrace room is nice
Room is small and no room for suite case. Carpet need replace. Black carpet to avoid Dirty showing.
The beds were very comfortable and the laundry facilities were convenient.
Paying to park in the motels lot was pretty unexpected.
I couldn't check in earlier than 3pm.
Friendly staff, love the balcony.
Worst most disgusting hotel ever visited
